Danny Reid Memorial

Danny Reid was a 32 year old skier with a passion for the
southern mountains, who was tragically killed in a freak accident
on the north face of Treble Cone in September 1997.
Danny was an outstanding skier who had become the "face" of New
Zealand skiing in the 90's, an internationally renowned ski-tuner,
a great friend to all of us at Browns and an unassuming, unsung
Kiwi Sportman.
The New Zealand Masters features the Danny Ried Memorial
Downhill, and the trophy donated by Guenther Raedler is
appropriately inscribed: Camaraderie and Valour, An Alpine
Gentleman.
