The Story So Far

1980 - National ski racers
Nigel and Derek Brown open a ski shop in their home town of
Queenstown, NZ
1989 - Developed our own
point of sale and specialist rental systems.
1997 - Long-term Browns’
employees, Kris Vermeir and Paul Vaitkus joined Derek in part
ownership.
1997 - Introduced a ski
tuning pick-up and delivery service for major Queenstown hotel
guests.
1998 - Paul and Kris bought
the remaining 50% from Derek and have successfully directed the
steady expansion of Browns Ski Shop ever since.
1998 - Browns bought New
Zealand’s only electronic binding calibrator.
2001 - Browns wins Best Ski
Shop in NZ for the first time.
2002 - Browns wins Best Ski
Shop in NZ for the second time (1st shop to take the title back to
back!)
2005 - Opened a satelite
rental fitting station at Millbrook Resort
2007 - Took a wee piece of
Queenstown to Auckland and opened a store in Nuffield Street,
Newmarket.
